Kristen Koci is a first year doctoral student with a focus in Environment and Community. Her primary interests include women’s access to health care, well-being, and youth/community development in rural communities. She is currently working as a research assistant with Dr. Courtney Flint.
Kristen received her BS in Sociology at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, where she worked as a research assistant at the Center for Rural Studies. In this position, Kristen assisted on community development projects focused on the building, strengthening, and maintaining of rural communities. She also had the opportunity to study community attachment, satisfaction, interactions, and action in rural Texas.
In her free time, Kristen enjoys reading, writing poetry, and doing yoga. As a Texan who recently moved to Logan, Kristen has also taken to hiking and exploring in the mountains.
