Dr. Marquez-Velarde is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Utah State University with a focus on intersectional population health. Her current research focuses on health inequalities among Black Latinxs, immigrants, and the LGBTQ+ community. Her work can be found in peer reviewed outlets including SSM-Population Health, the Journal of Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities, Local Environment, and Environmental Justice.
