Sarah Werman is pursuing a master’s degree in the Department of Sociology with an emphasis on social inequalities and poverty. Her research interests include homelessness and social deviance. She graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with her B.A after completing a mixed-methods thesis on the homeless community on the Las Vegas Strip. Sarah grew up in Boston and has spent time living in Southern California where she gained invaluable insight to the growing issue of homelessness. Her current thesis work involves an analysis of the framing of homelessness in Salt Lake City print media.
