After providing direct patient care for over thirty years in rural Utah both as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and for the last ten years also as a Family Nurse Practitioner, I have seen firsthand the challenges many have to affordable and accessible healthcare. I hope to gain the skills, credentials, and connections through this Masters Degree in Sociology program that will enhance my ability to be part of the solution to this significant societal structural problem of inequality in healthcare resources.
My wife, Lorelei, and I have six children and fifteen grandchildren scattered from Wisconsin to Arizona to California. We enjoy traveling to see the family and particularly enjoy seeing National Parks as we wander along the way. After retiring in January we completed a four month world cruise, LA to LA, six continents, 35 countries, and over 38,000 miles on the oceans of the world.
