Professor Reed Geertsen specializes in the areas of social theory, medical sociology, and health promotion. Prior to coming to USU, he served as the Chief of Behavioral Sciences on the faculty of the University Of Utah College Of Medicine. He has published numerous articles, as well as pursued consulting and research work for national, community and state health organizations. He has received several national awards for teaching and is a recognized leader in the rea of group structures and social networks and their effects on health care utilization. His current research focuses on behavior modification and lifestyle change using lifestyle diaries and locally-generated survey data.
